Preservation Steps - Sustainable Forestry & Timber Harvesting 101
Time & Location
Jun 11, 2024, 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM
Location: Spring Grove, details to follow
About the event
Join FNLT landowners & supporters for the opportunity to learn the foundations of forest management from local industry professionals. DCNR Service Forester, Matt Kern will cover the principles, techniques, challenges, and practices used to manage forests. Additionally, Tyler Amspacher, owner of Timber Ridge Forestry, will share his experience and offer insight into timber harvesting techniques and timber sales.
Thanks to the generosity of FNLT landowner, Doug Stambaugh, this event is being hosted on his Spring Grove property, preserved in 2021. Previously a landfill and later a CAFO site, Doug’s dedication to restoring the land and commitment to stewardship has transformed the property to what it is today. Regardless of the size of your property, this is a great opportunity to hear from a variety of speakers and have the chance to meet one on one with forestry professionals.
RAIN DATE - Tuesday, July 2nd at 5:30 PM
**Questions & requested topics you would like to learn about are encouraged and can be sent in advance of the events to Anna at alevitsky@farmtrust.org. Sturdy shoes and appropriate outdoor attire are recommended.
